AMI GROUP
Quality and Food Safety
Quality begins with clear product specifications and continues through sourcing, handling, storage, transport and delivery. The Group is developing controls appropriate to each division, including supplier requirements, hygiene procedures, inspection points, temperature awareness, cleaning routines, pest prevention, product segregation and non-conformance management. As operations mature, AMI Group intends to align relevant activities with recognised food-safety and quality-management systems.
AMI GROUP
Health and Safety
Employees, contractors and visitors should be able to work without avoidable harm. The Group's safety approach includes hazard identification, suitable protective equipment, safe vehicle and equipment use, incident reporting, emergency preparedness and task-specific instruction. Particular attention is required around boats and landing areas, cold storage, machinery, animal handling, loading operations and road transport.
AMI GROUP
Environmental Responsibility
AMI Group seeks to reduce waste, use water and energy carefully and prevent pollution. Sector priorities include reducing fish and crop losses, managing organic by-products responsibly, limiting unnecessary packaging, protecting soil and water resources and supporting legal, sustainable harvesting. Environmental considerations are incorporated progressively into project design, supplier engagement and investment decisions.
AMI GROUP
Climate Resilience
Somalia's producers and resource communities are highly exposed to climate variability. The Group's response is to diversify supply where practical, improve storage and logistics, strengthen information flows, support water-efficient production and avoid excessive dependence on a single product, season or location. Resilience is also built through stronger supplier relationships and realistic contingency planning.
AMI GROUP
Continuous Improvement
Policies alone do not create quality. AMI Group therefore emphasises routine supervision, staff learning, customer feedback, supplier dialogue and corrective action. Performance information will be used to identify recurring problems and guide practical improvement rather than merely recording compliance.
